The Legend of Zelda Video Game Series
Maintained in a fantasy climate, the game series combines elements of adventure, RPGs, action and puzzle games. The brand was created by the Nintendo corporation and is counted among the most important products in the Japanese publisher's portfolio.
For the father of the series The Legend of Zelda is considered to be Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of the Super Mario Bros. The first game in the series was released in 1987 and almost immediately became a hit on the Nintendo Entertainment System console. Players didn't have to wait long for the sequel. The very next year saw the release of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Seeing the potential of the brand, the Nintendo corporation decided that the series would appear at least once on each new console model. As a result, over the course of more than 30 years, the series has seen more than a dozen installments classified as mainstream, as well as a number of remasters, remakes and spin-offs. Many of these titles have won high praise among gamers, such as. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker from 2003, and the megahit The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild from 2017. The latter production, by the way, lived to see a full-fledged sequel in the form of 2023's released The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
The action of the games in the series The Legend of Zelda takes place in the fantastic land of Hyrule. The main character is usually an elf named Link, who has to rescue Princess Zelda from oppression. The villain role is played by Ganon, the leader of the Gerudo tribe of thieves. The plot mostly revolves around the thread of the Tri-power (each of the mentioned characters wields a different power: Zelda is the confidante of wisdom, Link of valor, and Ganon of strength).
The gameplay of the games in the series differs depending on the installment. Some are structured in a way that combines open-world action RPGs with adventure elements, while others rely on a more tactical approach. What all parts have in common, however, are logical puzzles and visuals, distinguished by intense colors and references to anime style. At the beginning of their existence, the titles in the series stuck to 2D, but as technology progressed, they moved to 3D or 2.5D, as in the case of The Link's Awakening, a 2019 remake of the series' first installment. The same year also saw the release of the brand's craziest spin-off, Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the Necrodancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda, which is a combination of rhythm game, action-adventure and roguelike.
According to estimates by the Nintendo corporation, by 2020 sales of games in the series of The Legend of Zelda exceeded the ceiling of 100 million copies. The brand has also been popularized through animated series, books and manga.

One of the numerous installments of the popular The Legend of Zelda series that dates back to the end of the 80s. The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes was developed solely with Nintendo 3DS in mind. The characteristic feature of the game is the three-player cooperation mode where we can join forces with our friends to defeat bosses, solve complicated puzzles, and complete subsequent levels. Totems, which are towers that consist of three characters standing on one another, are interesting result of cooperation. Thanks to this, heroes can reach places that are otherwise inaccessible or hit a strong opponent in his weak point. Naturally, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes lets us play solo, as well. In such case, we control each of the three characters interchangeably. Clothes and weapons we find give us special abilities: they can help us dodge enemy attacks, enlarge bombs, or let us perform attacks unavailable to other characters. The game features simple and not very detailed graphics which are, on the other hand, very colorful.
