Metroid Prime 4 and New Zelda Took Over Nintendo Direct. Show Also Delivered Number of Minor Announcements
The Nintendo Direct showcased a number of games heading to Switch. Among them, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom stirred the most excitement.
The June Nintendo Direct has come to an end. Switch owners will have plenty to keep them entertained in the near future, with the Japanese company unveiling a total of 31 games, some of which show great promise. Below we present to you the most important of them.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
After more than 5 years of silence, we finally received new information about the fourth installment of the popular series - Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. During the show, a short gameplay was presented, showing a segment with shooting and scanning the environment. The release window has been announced to the delight of fans, but it is set for 2025, which is quite far off.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Princess Zelda will take on the role of the protagonist in her own game, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, after years of playing a supporting role. However, the game won't resemble Link's last two adventures - it's closer to Link's Awakening. Zelda's primary tool is meant to be magic, enabling her to create duplicates of objects found in the world. The game will be released on September 26th exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership
One of the most famous brothers will also be featured in a new game - Mario & Luigi: Brothership will debut on November 7th this year on Nintendo Switch.
Fantasian Neo Dimension
Previously available only on iOS, Fantasian will hit the Switch in an expanded version around this year's Christmas.
Fairy Tail 2
The continuation of the jRPG set in the world of the popular anime - Fairy Tail 2 - will go on sale this winter and will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
MIO: Memories in Orbit
MIO: Memories in Orbit is a 2D adventure RPG game that will be released in 2025 on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne, XSX/S, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
Farmagia
The game Farmagia, has been announced, with its premiere scheduled for November 1st of this year. It will be available on PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake has received its release date. The title will debut on November 14th on PC, PS5, XSX/S, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Originally released on Wii, Donkey Kong Country Returns will appear on Switch in HD version on January 16, 2025. It's worth adding that the Polish studio Forever Entertainment is responsible for the port.
Metal Slug Attack Reloaded
Metal Slug Attack Reloaded was announced and released immediately. The game is available for purchase on PC, PS4, PS5, XSX/S, and Nintendo Switch.
Darkest Dungeon 2
The second installment of the popular Darkest Dungeon will also be available on Nintendo Switch. This will happen on July 15th.
Just Dance 2025 Edition
During the show, Ubisoft presented Just Dance 2025 Edition. The game will be released in October on PS5, XSX/S, and Nintendo Switch.
Stray
More than two years after its premiere, Stray will also be available on Nintendo Switch. The premiere is planned for the end of this year.
