Dragon's Dogma Video Game Series
A series of sandbox action RPGs with slasher elements, developed by Japanese company Capcom. The series Dragon's Dogma was created by an experienced development team, responsible for such series as Resident Evil, Devil May Cry or Breath of Fire, which included director Hideaki Itsuno, producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and designer Makoto Ikehara. The creators' goal was to create a new brand that would combine the open world characteristic of Western RPGs with the arcade combat system typical of Japanese studio productions.
The first part of the series, i.e. Dragon's Dogma, was released in 2012 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A year later, the title saw an expanded version, titled Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, which first appeared on the same platforms, and in time came to other platforms as well, including personal computers (in 2016). The new release included an additional adventure and all previously released expansions.
In 2013, a free spin-off of the brand, titled Dragon's Dogma Quest. The item was an attempt to transfer the basic mechanics of the original into a two-dimensional environment, with a greater emphasis on online gameplay and strategic elements. The year 2015 brought the release of yet another spin-off Dragon's Dogma, namely the game Dragon's Dogma Online, entirely focused on online gameplay. In terms of mechanics, the title did not differ from the main installments of the series, but offered much more extensive options for creating a hero and his companions. The production was based on a free-to-play model with optional micropayments (free-to-play) and was only available in Japan. Despite its initial success (within ten days of its release in the Japanese market, the game client was downloaded more than one million times), over time its popularity began to wane, until in December 2019 it was decided to shut down its servers.
Finally, in June 2022, we lived to see the official announcement of the game Dragon's Dogma II, which was heading for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The action of the series Dragon's Dogma was set in a fantastic land inhabited by powerful mythical beasts. During the gameplay, we play as a character known as Arisen, whose heart was taken from her by a dragon. From now on, her task becomes to get the dragon and recover the precious organ; but before she can do that, she will have to face a series of other challenges.
Games under the banner of Dragon's Dogma put at our disposal vast, open worlds. Wandering through picturesque landscapes, as well as numerous castles and settlements, we perform various tasks and face enemies. As we progress, we gain experience and develop Arisen in the chosen direction, while we can spend the money we earn on buying better equipment.
The series is distinguished by its arcade and dynamic combat system, drawing handfuls from the slasher genre. In addition, at our disposal was given the ability to grab adversaries in the course of battle, as well as to climb every larger monstrosity. At the same time, a system was implemented that allows you to attack selected parts of the body of opponents, which can significantly affect the course of the clash.
The issue of companions of the main character was also solved in an original way. The protagonist is accompanied by the so-called pawns, which can be created on their own or recruited in appropriate places, creating a maximum team of four. A substitute for multiplayer fun is the possibility of recruiting pawns created by other players and lending others their own companions, which results in their gaining additional experience and knowledge of the world.
While the first part of the series Dragon's Dogma worked on the basis of MT Framework technology, previously used in, among others, the game Lost Planet 2, the second installment of the series uses the RE Engine, which powered such projects as Resident Evil VII: Biohazard and Resident Evil: Village.

Heroes can belong to one of 8 classes, which determines our game style and available techniques. An important feature is the freedom of exploration.
