Executing set-plays | Attack FIFA 17 Guide

Preparing the attack
Preparing a viable, set-play based attack is not easy - patience and precise passes are crucial here. Usually, you will have to perform several dozen plays in order to find the appropriate scenario for your attack - do not be afraid to redirect the attack onto the other wing, you should also try to draw defenders from their positions by executing numerous passes.
Passing
Exchanging several short passes on a small area of the field is a great way of dismantling the enemy defence. In such a scenario we will be able to tear apart the enemy defensive structure and draw a lot of enemy players to interrupt our passage of play. When performed successfully, this will allow one of your players to break away from the enemy defenders, which will let you change the pace of the attack and get a player into a clear, unmarked position via a through ball.
Fighting for possession mid-field
A won header for a ball launched by the goalkeeper can be of key importance while developing an attack. If you manage to successfully redirect the ball into the enemy's half of the field, you will have a chance to execute a very swift attack based on one or two passes, which can effectively surprise your opponent.
