The modders responsible for The Sith Lords Restored Content Modification were praised by Chris Avellone himself, one of the authors of the scenario to the original game. Appreciating the technical side of the project, he emphasized the great understanding of the intentions of the original creators. But that's not a huge surprise. Obsidian was rushing to finish the second KotOR, cutting out some of the underdeveloped content just before the release in order to obey the deadline set out by Electronic Arts. What Avellone and his team did not manage to finish, the modders did.
From the long list of add-ons available in TSLRCM, the planet M4-78, not present in the game, deserves the most attention. This is where the droid factory is located. This thread of the story is present in the main storyline, but it's eventually nipped mid-way through. That's a pity, because it's a expansion of the history of the murderous HK-47.
How did the modders obtain the materials that were not present in the final version of this production? Well, surprisingly easy. Obsidian was in such a hurry that all the assets were left in the game files, unused by the game itself. However, reimplementing the content turned out much more of a daunting task than finding it. To a large extent, the material simply didn't fit together, and it also caused technical challenges. So the fans sewed all the missing parts of the original together, added enough of their own solutions to keep it consistent, and then optimized the modification. If you haven't played KotOR yet or want to do it again, only do it with TSLRCM!
