Alright, this is more of a short-and-sweet kinda thing. If you own the Xbox Game Pass, you've likely played it. I'm talking about the audiovisual feast of The Ascent. This game is stunning when you see it in first-person, but you can't really play it like that, so let's stick to isometric perspective.

What does Neon Giant studio's debut project have to offer? First of all, very satisfying shooting – two targeting modes, a cover system, high mobility of the protagonist, many tools of destruction and all kinds of items. If you like playing together with friends, you can join up to play The Ascent with up to four people – both online and on one screen. Other elements are not outstanding (the difficulty level is uneven, the storyline seems pretext, character development feels lacking, and backtracking is notorious despite charming and varied locations). The visuals and combat are worth the effort, though.

Play The Ascent, if:

  1. You want to enjoy a beautiful audiovisual setting;
  2. You love shooting;
  3. You have a Game Pass and haven't played it yet.

Almost uncritically loves the work of Stephen King. Does not abandon plans to follow in his footsteps. However, he keeps his first "literary achievements" locked away deep in a drawer.
