Tales of Arise. 7 new RPGs you should know

Table of Contents

ABOUT

Let's switch to eastern themes. The Tales of... has already had seventeen installments, so I hope I don't have to introduce it. But don't worry, Tales of Arise is a separate story, getting to know it before maybe reaching for the older parts of the series is a completely sound idea. If you enjoy animé stylistics, you should love it.

As far as I'm concerned, though, this jRPG is all about the arcade combat system. While Tales of Arise offers a ton of attacks and special techniques, each player's best friend – or enemy – is their own reflexes. Character development and acquiring increasingly better equipment will prove useless if we don't master the core principles. These may not be enough to complete the game. A bit like Sekiro, only decidedly less dark – at least in terms of the stylistics.

Play Tales of Arise, if:

  1. You're fan of animé;
  2. You like challenges;
  3. You want to test your reflexes.

He joined Gamepressure.com five years later - although he has known the service since he had access to the internet - to combine his love for words and games. Deals mainly with news and journalism. A sociologist by education, a gamer by passion. He started his gaming adventure at the age of four - with a Pegasus. Currently, prefers PC and demanding RPGs, but does not shy away from consoles or other genres. When he's not playing or writing, he enjoys reading, watching series (less often movies) and Premier League matches, listening to heavy music, and also walking the dog. Almost uncritically loves the work of Stephen King. Does not abandon plans to follow in his footsteps. However, he keeps his first "literary achievements" locked away deep in a drawer.
