Time for a little something for those, who like shorter adventures – as I promised. The indigenous creators of Gamedec took a bet on the trendy cyberpunk reality, and by mixing elements characteristic of the universe with futuristic video games, managed to create quite a fresh setting. There's some incredible writing here. However, since Gamedec can be completed in like 10 hours, it's a real tour de force.
And what is this game even about? Well, we play the eponymous detective, who investigates crimes committed in virtual realities. It may sound a bit corny, but keep in mind that the game is set in the 22nd century, and people spend most of their time in there. That's just the beginning; for example, there's also theme of child slavery here, as kids, under the guise of playing free-to-play productions are tricked into forced labor. As you can probably guess, the story here is full of gripping moments and moral dilemmas. This isn't a revolution in story-telling, and while some of the seemingly big choices amount to very little in the and, and the story can be uneven, it's definitely worth checking out. The game was also created with the author of the universe itself, Macin Przybylka, who wrote the Gamedec Books, originally published in Poland.
Play Gamedec, if:
- You can't get enough of cyberpunk;
- You like good stories and original worlds.
