Is this some new addition to the Goat Simulator?
Contrary to popular belief – no, Goat of Duty has nothing to do with the, in certain circles, cult Goat Simulatorem. This is a parody of network shooters developed by the 34BigThings studio, in terms of gameplay returning to the classics of the genre like Unreal Tournament or Quake III: Arena. The distinguishing feature of the game is that we control militarized goats.
What is the gameplay like in Goat of Duty?
It's obviously a parody, but under the absurd shell, Goat of Duty hides classic gameplay mechanisms, polished throughout months of presence in Early Access, where it has collected mostly positive reviews. The gameplay harks back to the traditions of network shooters, and we will not find here modern solutions like perks or unlocking better weapons along experience levels – combat is highly dynamic and victory or defeat is decided only by the skills of the players.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
January doesn't promise to be very exciting when it comes to new games. This is best evidenced by the fact that one of this month's most interesting releases is a parody of Call of Duty with goats. Sound abstract enough? You can see at a glance that the authors have an ambition to conquer Twitch and other streaming platforms. On the other hand, Goat of Duty offers sort of the same thing as Goat Simulator. And we are not talking about the charm of the titular animals, but rather a crazy gameplay that may appeal to fans of quirky humor. I don't expect much from this game – I simply believe that Goat of Duty will be a healthy new-year detox ahead of the big premieres that are being prepared in 2020.
