What is Commandos 2: HD Remaster?
An updated version of the second part of the cult-classic series of tactical games, in which we took control over a small group of specialized saboteurs operating behind enemy lines, and correct planning and use of the unique abilities of each character was the key to success. The new version of Commandos 2 is developed by Yippee! Entertainment.
What's new in the HD Remaster version of Commandos 2?
The update will offer exactly the same set of missions as the original version of Commandos 2 from 2001. The graphics will be improved – the action will still be displayed from an isometric perspective, but the character and environment models will have more detail, and higher resolutions will be supported. The interface, controls and the tutorial will also be revamped.
Praetorians: HD Remaster
On the same day, another classic reissue will be released – Praetorians, an RTS from 2003, in which we were able to embody the Roman Emperor. As with the Commandos, the Praetorians will get improvements in visual design, interface, and controls.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
Hollywood often remakes old classics, and it doesn't do it just to capitalize on the nostalgia of the days of old. It's also about bringing a theme or brand closer to new generations – maybe it will catch again? Commandos 2 was a sensation, and it definitely deserves such a reminder. To let the older players relive it, and allow younger to experience it the first time, since the series has been neglected in the mainstream, as has World War 2. I just hope that the creators will manage with the technical challenges and the consoles will offer the same experience as the PC.
