What is Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot?

It's a role-playing game set in the world of the famous anime, Dragon Ball. This production is created by Cyberconnect Studio, the developers of Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, and unlike the last few games based on the popular license will not focus on telling the author's story, instead presenting the events from the most popular Dragon Ball Z series.

What will be the plot of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarota?

We play the protagonist of the series, the eponymous Kakarota, a warrior of the space race Saiyan, who came to Earth as a child and became its defender under the name of Son Goku. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will allow you to experience the main events described in the Dragon Ball Z series, i.e. the history of the Saiyan attack on Earth, the expedition to the planet Namek, the Cella tournament or the fight with the cruel Buu.

What does Dragon Ball Z: Kakarota play like?

The action of the game will be shown from a third-person perspective, and in the course we will gradually gain access to more familiar areas, which we will explore on foot or levitating. As befits a role-playing game, training the characters and performing main and side quests will be important, but, in accordance with the spirit of Dragon Ball, the essence of the fun will be dynamic combat, reminiscent of fights from brawlers.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

I recently rediscovered this youthful charm of the adventures of Son Goku – all thanks to the imperfect, but sometimes really exciting animé, Dragon Ball Super. And just on this magic cloud arrives Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which can finally capture the spirit of the series like no other game (usually fights). Because Dragon Ball's roots are not only a series of spectacular fighting games, but above all, a journey, a great adventure – and a little naughty comedy. Kakarot has the ability to offer all this. This will allow you to relive important moments from the show – and find out what Goku has been doing in the meantime. As a buoyant adventurer we will go through the open world, and if the developers do not give us too much sandbox boredom, then finally we will be able to explore this mystical universe full of magic and legends, which is about something more than just fighting from time to time. Fingers crossed for this production – I'm moderately optimistic. Toriyama himself gave this game a blessing.

Hubert Sosnowski

I have a huge affection for the Dragon Ball universe. And since my demand for combat in this world was completely satisfied by the fantastic FighterZ, I could definitely appreciate an equally successful role-playing game right now. Unfortunately, I very much doubt that Kakarot will be this. It looks nice, but the gameplay looks boring. In addition, I do not like the selection of the source material – the original Dragon Ball series is much better suited for an RPG than the "Z," whose choice was obviously dictated solely by the greater popularity, rather than genuine concern for the quality of the game. In addition, putting into one production the material derived from dozens of volumes of manga and almost three hundred episodes of animé, can only mean one thing – it will be compressed and generalized. I don't expect miracles, and something tells me that after a quick look at the reviews, I'll just forget about Kakarot and go back to FighterZ.
