Dedicated to mobile platforms, The Elder Scrolls spin-off was already raising a lot of questions at the early access stage, where it was released for smartphones from March 2019. At the time, complaints were made about lengthy loading screens, emphasis on grind, formulaic ideas, and most importantly, aggressive microtransactions. In May 2020, the game made its proper debut, the list of target platforms expanded to include Switch and... well, it wasn't better than Early Access at all.
The difficulties that plagued smartphones mostly remained after a year – it continued to be a not-so-impressive "mobile" game, far too often reaching out for players' money. Debuting on a full-fledged gaming console, where the competition was sometimes really strong, further exposed and exacerbated the problems and added a few new ones – very poor visuals when we chose to play on the big screen, and not the best controls.
