Fast & Furious: Crossroads

  1. Release Date: August 2020
  2. Genre: Action car game
  3. Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne

What's a good plate with nothing on it? When nearly the entire budget is spent on high-profile license and an ad campaign that features Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez appearing at the Game Awards, it's not even enough to hire Slightly Mad (Need for Speed: Shift, Project CARS series).

Fast & Furious: Crossroads seems to yell at every point that it's really a budget game. The visuals let you reminisce about the golden days of the PlayStation 3's beginnings, while a mere four-hour story campaign completely wastes the opportunity to make interesting use of Vin, Michelle and a few other stars. The mechanics have been so trivialized that winning doesn't bring even an ounce of satisfaction – regardless of whether you're looking for realism or pure burnout fun. The project was clearly a cash grab aimed at the most loyal fans of the popular brand, and Slightly Mad Studios will probably quickly want to forget that they ever had anything to do with it.
