AGE OF EMPIRES III: DEFINITIVE EDITION
- Developer: Forgotten Empires / World's Edge

- Release date: October 15
Last year, a fine remaster of the second part of the Age of Empires series was on the list of the best strategies of that year. This time, we got a finely refreshed third entry in the series. Again, we're dealing with a game that doesn't try to reinvent the wheel – the graphics, sound and interface have been improved, but the gameplay mechanics have been almost untouched (not counting some, rather necessary changes in the Native American civilizations), which will certainly make fans hppy, but at the same time can also scare off people who have never enjoyed AoE 3.
It is worth noting that in addition to the higher resolution and much clearer UI, we received all the content created so far, as well as two new civilizations (Incas and Swedes). There were also two more game modes – the Historical Battles and The Art of War challenges.
If you're looking for a strategy with proven solutions or you want to see how RTSs were getting on fifteen years ago, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition will not disappoint you.
