Fans of the iconic Monkey Island brand do not have it easy, or rather – did not. They had to wait a whole 13 years for a new part of this series to appear. And that's assuming that Tales of Monkey Island is worthy of being called an acceptable installment of this series. Otherwise, we could be talking at least 22 years of waiting. Fortunately, the fantastic Return to Monkey Island was released this year – and if it failed at anything, it was only the quality of puzzles, the simplicity of which may not appeal to the veterans. Before the premiere, not everyone liked the style of the game, but after the debut of this production, the voices of criticism were largely quieted.

In the end, Return to the Monkey Island is a game that may appeal to both those who know the series well, and those, for whom it will be their first encounter. In the main menu, you will find a recap of the story, so you don't have to worry about not knowing the context. And once you start the adventure, you'll get great humor, thoughtful puzzles and some brilliant writing that often breaks the fourth wall and has lots of fun with the convention.
