"A sequel to the first part of Quake that we never got," - one of the reviews of WRATH: Aeon of Ruin. Indeed, as the atmosphere of that game is really evident, the style also, which shouldn't surprise, as the game was made on the id Tech engine by the Quake scene veterans. Here, we assume the role of a mysterious Outlander who is tasked with eliminating Guardians of the Old World.

Nevertheless, the plot is rather vestigial, and just a pretext to travel through successive locations to mow down hordes of opponents. The authors managed to create really good level designs and ingenious weapon types and created a dark atmosphere, although it is worth mentioning that the game is not yet fully ready, and more content will appear. WRATH: Aeon of Ruin is a must-have game for any fan of Quake I.
