Unlocking equipment
To upgrade your garage you need to interact with the toolboxes inside of it.
Some of the upgrades consist of additional tools. Other upgrades are completely new objects the car can be placed next to via the pie menu.
Lifters
Cost: one is available immediately, second one costs 2500 CR
The lifter is used to repair suspension and engine parts that need to be accessed from below. One lifter is available from the start, another one has to be bought as a garage expansion.
PC
Cost: Free
The PC is useful only in the early game, before unlocking the tablet. It allows access to stores with new parts.
Radio and telephone
Cost: Free
The telephone can be used to browse and accept orders, although it can also be done via the pie menu. By interacting with the radio you can change the soundtrack. The instructions for uploading your own preferred music into the game can be found in the FAQ section.
Tire Changer
Cost: Free
The tire changer is used to separate rims from tires and to install tires onto rims. It's available from start.
Wheel Balancer
Cost: Free
The wheel balancer is used to balance wheels that were just taken off the tire changer. It's available from start.
Spring Puller
Cost: Free
The spring puller is used to disassembly and assembly individual damper parts. It's available from start.
Oil Drain
Cost: Free
The oil drain is used to empty the oil sump before replacing oil. It can only be used when the car is lifted by the lifter. If you don't use the oil drain, you'll lose a small amount of credits as a cleaning expense. If it's your first time forgetting to do so, you'll get a trophy. It's available from start.
Interior Detailing Toolkit
Cost: Free
The Interior Detailing Toolkit cleans up the car's interior at the cost of additional 100 CR. Cleaning the interior doesn't influence the money you'll gain for finishing an order, but if you own a car, it can be sold for a higher price if it's clean inside. It's available from start.
Welder
Cost: 5000 CR
The welder is used to repair the car's damaged or rusted body (aside from removable elements like doors, bumpers, fenders) for the price of 500 CR. Needs to be unlocked via toolbox.
Engine Crane
Cost: 2000 CR
Additional requirements: garage expansion
The engine crane allows you to replace and build engines outside of the car, giving you a better view of their parts. It consists of two components: the crane that's used to pull the engine out and an engine stand in the expanded room. To pull out an engine you need to unscrew the gearbox and empty the oil sump first.
The stand for removed engines can be found in the new room added by expanding the garage.
On the stand you can build an entirely new engine or work on a damaged one more comfortably.
Garage Expansion
Cost: 10000 CR
The garage expansion gives additional space where more equipment can be placed. Needs to be unlocked via toolbox.
Repair Table (parts)
Cost: 1500 CR
Additional requirements: garage expansion, the Renovator skill
The repair table for parts (workbench) is used to repair many kinds of parts. Aside from purchasing the table itself, you also need to unlock the Renovator skill.
Leveling up the skill allows you to repair more parts belonging to specific groups.
Repair Table (body)
Cost: 2500 CR
Additional requirements: garage expansion, the Renovator skill on Level 6
The body repair station allows you to repair damaged doors, fenders, hoods and bumpers.
To use the body repair station, your Renovator skill needs to be fully upgraded.
Brake Lathe
Cost: 1750 CR
Additional requirements: garage expansion
The brake lathe allows you to skim brake discs.
Car Wash
Cost: 1750 CR
The car wash allows you to clean the outerior of a used car, e.g. a wrecked car you bought from a barn. Cleaning the car increases it's selling value.
Paintshop
Base cost: 15000 CR
Level 1 Paintshop: 7500 CR
Level 2 Paintshop: 7500 CR
The paintshop allows you to change a car's color. The base level facility is limited in its functions. Upgrading it to Level 1 allows you to change the type of paint and increases the number of available colors. Level 2 allows you to mix colors and add stickers.
Test Path
Cost: 10000 CR
The test path allows you to detect malfunctions in the car's suspension, as well as line up the wheels and lights.
Dyno
Cost: 20000 CR
The dyno is used for measuring a car's power and for tuning. It allows to accept orders requiring tuning.
To perform it, use the laptop in the back of the hall.
Salvaging
Cost: 2500 CR
The salvaging container is used to obtain Scraps from broken parts, which can then be used to upgrade working parts. The part's upgrade level (1-3 stars) doesn't matter when fixing cars. Upgraded parts are only used in our own vehicles.
Broken parts can be disposed of via a simple minigame.
The second tab allows us to upgrade functional parts.
Tablet
Cost: 500 CR
The tablet should be unlocked first. It adds a shortcut to the shops with parts in the wheel menu.
Battery charger
Cost: 550 CR
The charger changes its name to Battery charger after purchase. It is used to charge the battery in the car.
Warehouse
Cost: 750 CR
Additional requirements: garage expansion
The warehouse allows you to store the parts you have on you, so that during repairs you have only the necessary ones. Parts from the warehouse can be used, for example, for later repair, when you unlock this ability.
The entrance to the warehouse is located on the right side of the second room of the garage, and you need to open another door to get in.
Customization
Cost: 1000 CR
Additional requirements: second lifter
Customization adds a ladder to the garage. Clicking on it allows you to change the appearance and decor of almost all objects in the garage. These changes are free.
One section allows you to change the objects, the other - to browse through the available options. You can change the camera angle with a dedicated key.
