Last update: 26 August 2021
On this page of the Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 guide, we list the types of commissions available in the game. We explain the differences between regular commissions and story-related commissions.
Commissions - basic info
You gain EXP and currency - Credits - by fulfilling car repair commissions. They become available by clicking the phone on the desk or the telephone receiver icon in the pie menu.
Commission details can be checked freely via the Car Status icon.
Clicking the receiver icon shows you the list of parts that need replacing. If the phrase "Part not discovered" is present, that means you need to perform diagnostics of the vehicle or remove a certain part. Details can be found in the Malfunction Diagnostics chapter and the FAQ: Undetected part - what to do?
It's worthwhile to check which parts are required to repair the car. The percentage represents durability and shows how worn out the selected part is. In the late game you won't need to constantly buy fresh parts with 100% durability. You should instead use parts you repaired or got from other cars, as long as they meet the percentage requirement.
The CR tab allows you to check how many credits you'll get for repairing the car. The payments start getting listed only once you replace a specific part. Starting off, the tab won't list any payments.
After finishing all required repairs (the list should be full of green check marks), you can wrap up the commission and earn your credits by clicking the Finish Order button, marked by green on the bottom of the screen.
Story commissions
Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 contains 30 story commissions. Their distinguishing characteristic is a short description of the order given to us by our client. They also gradually increase in challenge level and complexity, offer different kinds of malfunctions to solve and require us to develop our garage further. Usually they also provide higher rewards.
Only one story commission is available at a time, and it's always on top of the available commissions list. No matter how much time passes, story commissions never expire. If no story commissions are available, it means you need to increase your experience level or add a new function to your garage, such as a Workbench or a Paintshop.
Warning: Story commissions can't be turned in before fixing all malfunctions.
Regular commissions
Normal orders are always available and offer random repairs of varying complexity. Their distinguishing characteristics are lack of description from the client and a time limit for accepting the commission. When time passes, the commission is replaced with another one. They can be used to acquire spare parts or earn some money while waiting for the next story order. In terms of gameplay, regular commissions are identical to story commissions.
Warning: You can give up on a regular commission midway through, but you won't earn anything if you do.
