Processing will allow you to create many items

Processing is an essential element of Black Desert. It will allow you to prepare food that can increase your statistics, or special items that will help you catch wild horses. Processing is also the first step of crafting tools, wagons or jewels. The following list includes all the available branches of processing.

1. Shaking - a method that allows to create items from two separate ingredients. One can use it to prepare cakes or jewels of high value.
2. Grinding - a method that allows to produce all sort of powders (e.g. required for Black Stones) and upgrade jewels. It can also be used to create silk and other fabrics.
3. Chop - it will help you create all sort of boards and plywood from wood.
4. Dry - this method can be used with previously caught fish and animal meat. Your food will remain fresh longer, which can save a lot of time when there are no merchants around. You can only dry food in direct sunlight.
5. Thinning - This method will allow you to separate components that have been combined. You can use it to gather feather or clean water. Can only be used on windy days.
6. Heating - a method that can be used to melt materials and ingredients, and combine them into single items. You can use it to craft lump of raw sugar, needed to catch a wild horse.
7. Simple Alchemy - You can use it to craft potions. However, such potions are merely a small part of what can be achieved. In order to fully use alchemy, you need to rent a house and buy alchemy tools.
8. Simple Cooking - Analogically to alchemy, you need to rent a house and have an active kitchen. Simple cooking can be used to prepare only simple dishes.

Using processing methods will grant you experience that contributes to your main level and experience points of the selected processing method. The higher the level of a given processing method, the more items you will be able to craft. For instance, the first level will allow you to produce from one to three lumps of raw sugar, while higher levels will allow you to produce more lumps. This will directly influence your financial contribution and potential income. Crafting an item for the first time will unlock the recipe that can be used at any moment.
