Last update: 29 May 2020
As soon as you turn on Story Creator Mode, it may seem very complicated. So, we've tried to prepare some valuable tips to help you create your first missions. In Assassin's Creed Odyssey you'll find many different missions, so you'll have to do your best to stand out from them.
- Prepare a preliminary plan
- Start with small missions
- Test your projects
- Don't be afraid of changes
- Save your project regularly
- Come up with an idea that stands out from the crowd
Prepare a preliminary plan
Before you create your own mission, prepare a preliminary plan. Think about who should be the main character of your mission, what will it rely on, and in what place it should happen. Combine all these parameters so that they match as best as possible. If you choose a seaside area, it may be worth putting a fisherman or pirate there and do a job for him, but if you want the mission to work in the middle of the forest, find a wild character who may fit in perfectly with such areas. Everything should fit to each other.
Start with small missions
Make sure your first missions are not too complicated; choose a starting point, a main character and a small target, e.g. to reach a different location. This way you shall get to know the basic features of this mode and you will be able to look at each option carefully. By choosing only a few options you can still create a lot, e.g. create choices, kill NPCs and increase/ decrease your hero's strength.
Test your projects
Before you add your mission to the network, test it thoroughly to make sure it does not contain any bugs and is engaging for the players. If you check them, you'll know what's worth changing or adding to make this quest even better and more interesting.
Don't be afraid of changes
Changes to the project can be made even after you have already shared the mission in the network. At any time, you can change everything in your task, and even delete a significant part of it. You can also remove the entire quest/mission if you find that it does not meet your expectations.
Remember that this option will make your work much easier and allows you to develop projects on a permanent basis.
Save your project regularly
Designing missions is not easy, there are many different options and varieties. Keep track of the changes in your project so you can easily go back to them without losing anything. This will make it easy for you to change the options or individual settings and go back to the corresponding points.
Come up with an idea that stands out from the crowd
In order for your mission to be engaging and attract thousands of players, it must be unique. Think carefully about what you would like to see happening in the quest. It should be interesting and innovative; maybe it will provide an interesting character or a perfectly written dialogue? Think carefully about every detail of your mission to make it truly unique and one of a kind.
