Xenoblade Chronicles 3 offers 19 additional Heroes characters. From this page you will learn how to unlock each Hero and how to rejoin Ethel to your team.

Last update: 19 September 2022

You can recruit 19 Heroes total in Xenoblade 3. This page of the guide explains how to unlock each Hero and have Ethel rejoin your party.

General information

Heroes are characters who'll join your party as rewards for completing Hero quests. Completing these quests rewards you with access to that Hero's class as well.

You can't directly control Heroes in combat. Their purpose is to help you in battle and during Chain Attacks. You can change their abilities in their character tab.

You can switch between recruited Heroes at any times, with a single exception - Ethel, who leaves the party after completing the No Want of Courage quest - Xenoblade 3: Heroes - list of all - Basics - Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Guide

You can switch between recruited Heroes at any times, with a single exception - Ethel, who leaves the party after completing the No Want of Courage quest.

You can recruit her again, but one of your characters must first reach Rank 10 in Seraph and Flash Fencer classes. Go to Colony Omega in the Aetia region and visit the lab with Cammuravi in your party. Interact with the door at the end of the room to trigger a cutscene, which also increases the rank caps for the Seraph and Flash Fencer classes to 20.
