In Xenoblade 3, canceling an attack will make the next hit faster. On this page you will learn how to cancel an attack to deal critical damage and fill the Chain Attack gauge faster.
Canceling attacks allows you to smoothly switch from one attack to another, significantly speeding up fights. Launching the next attack when the previous one ends will cause the strikes to overlap.
When you manage to cancel the attack, a bright light will glow next to your character. You can cancel regular auto, Arts, or Talent Arts attacks.
- Canceled Arts attacks, apart from speeding up the fight, also deal more damage, and increase the chance for critical damage and negative statuses.
- Another advantage of canceling attacks is that the Chain Attack gauge will fill up faster.
With the right set of Gems, which enhance subsequent attacks, or with accessories, you will increase the chance of successfully canceling attacks.
