Save your game frequently
No matter the platform, Weird West features manual saving and quick saving. You should always save the game before entering hostile territory so that you can quickly start over in case you fail.
Pay attention to what you collect
Your inventory in Weird West is limited, which is especially noticeable in the early game before you get a horse or a stash in the bank. The game floods your inventory with various items, but most of them are rubbish which can only stack up to a few items in a single slot. If you find a large number of firearms it's a good idea to dismantle them for resources immediately.
Buy a horse ASAP
Buying a horse will cost you around 280$ (depending on the discount) - it's an extremely important purchase due to being the only transport method available in Weird West. Owning a horse shortens the travel time on the map by more than half and lets you store additional items in the saddlebags.
Look for treasures
You can find treasure maps in certain areas or on the corpses of defeated enemies. They're worth looking for, as they can reward you with valuable items as well as ability and perk points.
Examine every nook and cranny
Weird West often hides valuable items in hard-to-reach places. Chests at the edge of the map or inside well-guarded buildings often contain special items used to upgrade abilities and perks.
Hunt Bounties
Bounties are additional quests in Weird West that task you with capturing or eliminating a target in exchange for a high monetary reward. Remember you're under a time limit to complete a Bounty.
Upgrade your weapons
To upgrade your weapons in Weird West you must visit a blacksmith - increasing your firepower is especially important at higher difficulties. When you find a weapon that perfectly suits your playstyle try to upgrade it on a regular basis.
Fight creatively
Each area in Weird West can be completed in many different ways, which means you can often finish quests without getting into gunfights. You can sneak behind enemies, knock them out, then hide the bodies as to not arouse suspicion and to give yourself an advantage. You can also use the environment during combat, taking advantage of oil lamps to start fires or shooting explosive barrels.
Upgrade your abilities and perks
To become stronger in Weird West you must not only equip your characters with better gear but also spend ability and perk points. Abilities are unique to each character but perks are shared between all the characters you'll be using throughout the storyline.
Mine ore and collect skins
You need a lot of ore and animal hides to upgrade your gear, so collect resources whenever possible. You need a pickaxe for mining and a skinning toolbag for skinning.
