This Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader guide will help you talk the talk when interacting with Bottomless Pit - Champion of the Abyss, Champion of the Darkness.

As you traverse through various systems and galaxies in Rogue Trader, you'll encounter many interesting locations. On the planet Jungle World you'll find the Bottomless Pit. When interacting with a mysterious phenomenon, you may receive one of the buffs. Check out how to obtain the Champion of the Darkness or Champion of the Abyss status.

Bottomless Pit

In System Speculo, you'll find the planet Jungle World. Land at the Augur's Anomaly location to visit the Bottomless Pit.

When talking to Bottomless Pit, select the following dialogue options:

1. Examine the pit.
2. Lean over and stretch your hand into the darkness.
3. Submit to the entity's will.
4. What are you?
5. What do you want from me?
6. Turn around and fight the creature.
7. Kill your brothers and sisters and be the sole ruler of the civilisation.

At this point, you'll be able to choose whom to sacrifice. If you pass the Toughness test, the first dialogue option will reward you with the Champion of the Abyss buff.

The remaining dialogue options describe your companions. Select one of them to grant the Champion of the Darkness buff.

However, If you don't pass the test or handle the conversation with Bottomless Pit poorly, your character could get the Curse of the Abyss debuff.

Champion of the Abyss

Champion of the Abyss grants 2 Weapon Skill and 5 Coercion.

Champion of the Darkness

Champion of the Darkness grants 5 Willpower and 5 Lore (Xenos).

Curse of the Abyss

Curse of the Abyss gives -5 Willpower.
