Colour indicators
The Guide uses the following colour indicators:
- Brown marks key characters from the game, with whom you can interact or talk (Snow, Woodsman). This is indicated by a distinctive speech bubble on the screen.
- Blue marks items which can be looked at. This is indicated by a distincticve eye icon. In most cases looking at items is optional, and gives non-essential information. Sometimes, though, it is best to do this, since that can resolve possible doubts regarding puzzles (Look At, Examine). Sometimes such items can reveal additional conversation options with other characters.
- Green marks items which enable any sort of interaction (Use, Kick, Knock). This is definitely the most important option for solving logic puzzles, and thus progressing the action. Such items are indicated by hand icon.
- Orange marks QTE (Quick Time Events), which are very common in the game. In these sequences player has to quickly press buttons that appear on the screen. Note that not all sequences in this Guide occur in the same order as in the game. However, their result is always the same. [QTE]A sequence[/QTE].
Important decisions
The Wolf Among Us allows you to make decisions with their own consequences. Each episode contains several of these. The game will automatically adapt its content to their consequences. They are not always divided into bad and good decisions, neither it is always stated whether or not the consequences will have impact on the story. Sometimes you have to choose between two evils. Depending on what you decide, some characters react differently. At the end of each episode you are presented with a summary of your decisions along with comparison of other players' choices.
