Dead City is chapter 2 in the game Stray. In our guide you'll find a solución that tells you, among other things, how to stop the working fans and how to escape from the Zurk monsters (Zurks).

The second level of Stray is the Dead City . The walkthrough in our guide explains, among other things, how to solve puzzles of stopping the fans and destroying the glass roof, and what to do during the chase by Zurks.
Crossing the city
The chapter will start after you leave the sewers. Jump onto the garbage can and from there onto the roof above. This will allow you to bypass the fence.
In the partially flooded location, jump on floating objects, including boards and barrels. Jump onto crates and the large pipe, going right towards the small hole in the fence.
Jump through the hole. In the next location is a small puzzle involving stopping the working fan. To progress, you must:
- Find and grab a small bucket from the picture 1. You have to move it.
- Approach the fan and drop the bucket so it roll down. It will get caught between the blades and stop the fan. This will allow you to move on.
In the next location, look for new ledges that can be jumped onto or to be jumped off. You will reach the glass roof, which you have to break - this is another small puzzle.
You need to reach the highest ledge and push the paint can from the picture above. A falling object will break the glass roof and allow you to get inside.
You can, among other things, optionally scratch the carpet in the apartment. Use the passage blocked by boards. You will reach a bucket that is acts as an elevator. Thanks to it, you will go down to the lower level and get back in the alleys.
Go forward. Along the way, you can examine the damaged machine. Now, you have to climb a little.
First escape from Zurks
A cut-scene will start and you will encounter the zurks for the first time
They are small, bloodthirsty monsters that will try to attach themselves to your cat and drain its life force. Shake off Zurks by quickly pressing the button displayed on the screen (Circle on PS4/PS5).
You have to follow a linear path. Keep the run button pressed and change the direction when you see jumping Zurks. There is a chance you will bypass them and avoid having to deal with them.
End the chase by jumping through the open window of the building.
Further exploration of the city
The new path is linear again - get closer to the subsequent ledges and objects that you can jump towards. Eventually, you will reach the place where you need to knock down the plank shown in the picture above. Doing so will create a bridge that will allow you to reach the neighboring roof.
Jump towards the vertical blue shutter to get inside the next building.
In the next location, enter the barrel and for the first time, you have to roll it. Move it to the right. This will allow you to jump on it and then on the roof above.
You will reach the scaffolding. Now you just have to jump on the boards and other elements of the structure. You don't have to worry about falling down. Walk over the hanging beam and jump over to the neon sign.
You have to find the second board to knock it down, thanks to which you will get to the next part of the scaffolding. Continue the linear travel and reach the small opening with bars - you can squeeze in.
You will reach the location with the second fan. In this case, you can turn it off by removing the power source from the picture above - grab it in your mouth and put it away anywhere. You will enter the flat and Chapter 3 will begin.
