When playing Stray, you may want to replay a given stage, for example to find missed collectibles without restarting the entire game. This page of our guide answers the question of whether it's possible to select chapters of the game and repeat previously completed stages.
As a reminder, in this game, you cannot create manual saves and you have to rely solely on the automatic saves created after each chapter.
You might be happy to hear that it is possible to repeat previously completed stages. All you have to do is return to the main menu of the game, highlight the slot where your current progress is saved and select the Select Chapter option. A list of completed chapters will appear.
It's best to repeat the chapters only after the end of the game, because you will always be brought back to the very beginning of a given stage.
Repeating chapters will be useful, above all, to obtain missed achievements and collectibles. While browsing chapter titles, the game displays information about the number of B-12 memories that are still available and already unlocked (B-12 Memories are the main category of collectibles). Unfortunately, you can't follow Sheet Music or Badges in a similar way, but fortunately there aren't many of these secrets – moreover, Sheet Music pieces are only collected in the slums.
The game doesn't immediately save newly acquired collectibles when repeating levels. After collecting the previously omitted secrets, you also have to reach any place where a new checkpoint will be created. Only then can you quit the game and return to the main menu without losing progress.
