Community and control of different characters | Tips State of Decay Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
State of Decay is a game where you have one important task - to survive . Your first character went along with a friend for an innocent fishing trip to Mt. Tanner, where he is attacked by zombies. From this moment the main objective is to escape from this terrible place, away from the living dead. To do this, roam the open world to find as many living and doing everything you can to keep them in this state by providing them with places to sleep, food, materials, etc. The purpose of your character is to search of abandoned buildings (houses, shops, clinics, etc.) and providing the base necessities of survival: drugs, ammunition and food.
Remember that State of Decay is not a linear game, at various stages you might come across other versions of events. A lot depends on whether all of the main characters survived or not. If you wait too long for the execution of a task the some missions may completely disappear or other quests will replace them. When one of the characters dies, you may not be able to complete quest. Although the goal never changes - you have to survive and escape from this cursed place!
Community and control of different characters
You can choose from many different characters to play, this creates possibilities to choose hero for different game styles. During your adventure you'll find a single person or even a group of people who managed to survive, if you'll help them, you will be able to control them. Some of those will become your friends right away, others will require assistance in carrying out their tasks or personal wishes. When you're friends with someone you can talk to that person to change your main hero. Choose carefully, because if a character dies, it dies forever. Therefore, do not risk excellent sniper going on a mission that requires more melee combat or more risky exploration, for such a task better choose someone with a lot of life, stamina and advanced fighting skills. When you find yourself in a situation with no way out, without being able to heal, with small amount of health and a horde of zombies on your back, quickly pause the game and just leave the game. After re-logging you'll up in your base, safe and sound, although you will loose rucksack with resources if you had one, and progress in the mission may change (sometimes resetting it), but if you really want to rescue the active character - this is the only way.
