The return to Poni Island | Side missions Pokemon Moon Guide
Last update: 18 January 2017
Begin with using Charizard to travel to Vest Poni Canyon. Once you're up there, go down and turn right, as if you would want to visit the ruins. After a moment, you should meet Zygarde's friends - ask them about Zygarde. You'll receive Key Stone and a stone that allows Alakazam to use the mega evolution. First things first - you need to win a battle.
Dexio has a lvl 61 Espeon, lvl 61 Raichu, lvl 61 Slowking, lvl 61 Metagross, and a Alakazam.
After you won the fight, pass by a guy that stands out from a stony shutter until you reach a new location, Poni Grove. You'll access it only after you've acquired the title of the champion. Once you've entered the location, you should see a guy in a white kimono - fight him.
He has a lvl 56 Crabominable - he is vulnerable to flying, psychic, fiery, or fighting pokemon.
Check the right side of your opponent: a Max Potion should be somewhere nearby. Follow the trodden path leading up. You should see a Zygarde Cube Fragment and a X Sp.Atk. This location has reported sightings of following pokemon:
- Raticate
- Gumshoos
- Trumbeak
- Granbull
- Pinsir
- Riolu
Turn right and proceed forward until you reach the next opponent - Jackson.
He has three pokemon. A lvl 55 Bruxish will be your first oponent - use a ghost pokemon to counter him. Jackson's second choice is a lvl 56 Marowak, while lvl 56 Braviary will be your last opponent. Braviary is a flying pokemon, so use stone, ice, or electric pokemon.
You should see a Zygarde Cube Fragment after a short trek. Enter the Poni Plains.
Poni Plains, Meadow, Resolution Cave, Poni Grove, Gauntlet and Battle Tree
These locations have reported sightings of following pokemon:
- Gumshoos
- Fearow
- Trumbeak
- Petilil
- Primeape (tree attack)
- Emolga (tree attack)
- Hariyama (bush attack)
- Scyther (bush attack)
You should see a Zygarde Cube Fragment located opposite to you. Once you've picked it up, turn right and follow the road leading up - you'll encounter a new enemy, Hiker.
Hiker/Ryan has two pokemon - a lvl 55 Lycanroc, and a lvl 55 Gigalith. The second pokemon is vulnerable to earth, water, plant, and fighting pokemon.
Jump below to gather all the berries from below the tree. Then, return to the previous enemy. This time, climb to the top, and destroy the stones using Tauros. Keep to the left side - TM24 Thunderbolt should be waiting for you, while a Zygarde Cube Fragment can be found below. Now return to the area and walk through the middle part. A Star Piece should appear before you. Once again, return and keep to the right side. When you reach the water, go down. You should encounter an enemy.
Angela will send a lvl 58 Cloyster, and a lvl 59 Lurantis.
Proceed further - you should find Carbos. Go up, keeping to the shore all the way. After a moment you should encounter some bushes that are inhabited by a pokemon. Turn left, and enter Poni Meadow. There is a Purple Nectar behind the girl with a Nosepass. Proceed up. Before you go north, approach the branches behind you, and pick up Honey. To find a Zygarde Core Fragment, begin with getting around the stones. There is a TM50 Overheat behind the next branch. Proceed to the next branch, and jump from the stairs - the fragment should be waiting for you. Then, return to the branches, and proceed north. A Power Herb can be found along the way. You should approach a cave (Resolution Cave). Cross the stone floor, and turn left - an Elixir will be waiting for you. Return and go south - an enemy will be waiting for you.
Maria has only one pokemon - a lvl 57 Emolga, vulnerable to stone pokemon.
If you are mounted, leave the horse and proceed through a narrow tunnel. A Terrain Extender will be waiting for you at the end of the tunnel. Then, destroy the stones near the girl - a TM26 Earthquake will appear. Proceed south and destroy further stones. Another encounter awaits a bit further:
Travis will test two pokemon: a lvl 56 Dugtrio, and a lvl 57 Mudsdale.
After the fight, go south until you reach the deeper part of the cave. A Zygarde Cube fragment should appear before you. The bottom left offshoot contains a Light Ball, while the bottom right one ends with a Life Orb. Scan the upper right branch using Stoutland - a Big Nugget should appear. The final branch (upper left one) holds an Adrenaline Org. Time to leave the cave and switch Poni Meadow to Poni Plains. This time, go north until you encounter an enemy. You should notice an item (X Defense) on a small bluff - to get it, all you have to do is to circle it.
Leon will test three pokemon: a lvl 59 Skarmory, which is countered by electric and fire pokemon, a lvl 59 Vikavolt, also vulnerable to electricity and fire. A lvl 59 Gyarados will be your final enemy.
You've entered Poni Coast. This location is inhabited only by Dugtrio. Here, you'll find two Zygarde Cube fragments, and a TM97 Dark Pulse. Destroy the stones and go forward - you'll be accosted by a pair of twins
...who have four pokemon. This is a 2v2 fight. The first two pokemon sent by them are classic versions of Sandslash and Ninetales, both lvl 58. Ninetales is vulnerable to stone, earth, and water pokemons, while Sandslash fears water, earth, and fire. The next pair consists of Exeggutor and Golem, both lvl 59. Exeggutor is vulnerable to ghost pokemon, while Golem doesn't like dealing with water ones.
A Comet Shard is found behind them. Go south to reach a new area - Poni Gauntlet. You'll be accosted by Kyle, who stands by the entrance to the location.
Kyle will test two pokemons: a lvl 58 Ditto and a lvl 59 Porygon-Z.
Cross through a small wooden bridge - an enemy and a Zygarde Cube Fragment will be waiting for you.
Sheri fields four pokemon - a lvl 61 Weaville, who is countered best by a stone pokemon, a lvl 61 Trevenant, who is vulnerable to a number of types: ghost, fire, ice, dark, and flying pokemon. Sheri's third choice is a lvl 61 Magmortar - use a stone, earth, or water pokemon. Your final enemy will be a lvl 61 Kommo-o - he is vulnerable to psychic pokemon.
Go to the second wooden bridge which is located on the left. Go straight ahead and pick-up a Guard Spec. The next wooden bridge contains another enemy.
A woman with a backpack has only one pokemon - a lvl 59 Mimikyu.
Proceed further and bypass the next wooden bridge. Turn right before the last bridge - you should see a Misty Seed. Once you've picked up the item, go south - you will encounter some enemies.
It's a 2v2 fight - you'll be facing two punks. Your enemies will send a Lycanroc and a Honchrow, both lvl 59.
You'll find a Big Pearl further down south. Once you've picked it up, go north to reach the final bridge.
Tracy will test two pokemon - a lvl 60 Pangoro and a lvl 60 Machamp.
There is a Zygarde Cube Fragment on the bridge, while another scrap is waiting for you ahead.
Another 2v2 fight. This time, your enemies, Tsunekazu and Nobuko will field 6 pokemon. First wave consists of Comfey and Wishiwashi, both lvl 61. They'll also send Turtonator, Lilligant, Electivire and Alomomola.
The boy nearby can exchange Bewear for Talonflame. A battle tree is behind him - you'll encounter Red and Blue.
Blue will begin with sending a lvl 65 Alakazam. His second choice is a lvl 65 Machamp, who is vulnerable to psychic pokemon. The third choice is a lvl 65 Aerodactyl. Then, you'll need to deal with a Gyarados. Blue's final attempt to change the course of the battle is a Exeggutor.
You are now at the Battle Tree. Here, you need to climb to higher levels of the tree to receive special currency that can exchanged to new, unique items. Time to begin a journey for the last thing on this island - the guardian deity. To catch him, visit Ruins of Hope.
You'll be facing Tapu Fini - a lvl 60 water/fairy pokemon. He is vulnerable to poison, electricity, and grass pokemons.
