How to heal characters in Pathway? Pathway guide, tips
Last update: 18 April 2019
In Pathway, characters have to bars - health and armor. The armor bar is depleted first. When it is empty, the enemy will start depleting the health bar. You can restore both bars. When a character loses their health, they receive "KO" status. If you don't heal them, they won't be able to continue the current expedition and participate in the next one.
Knocked out status
In Pathway, characters with empty armor bar can start losing health due to enemy attacks. If they receive too much, the will get knocked out. A character with "KO" status who wasn't healed in the right time "dies". This hero will be hospitalized - they won't be able to continue the current expedition and participate in the next one. Try to keep your characters alive. Ways of losing health points:
- during fights on a tactical map,
- when you are traveling on foot on the map (when your jeep is out of fuel),
- during random events (e.g. drinking poisoned water or getting attacked by spiders in ruins).
A knocked out enemy receives "KO" status - the small number next to it informs you how much time you have left to heal that person. If you don't help them in time - they will die. You can treat your characters outside a fight by using a medkit stored in the jeep provided that you have won a fight before a character with "KO" status dies. Endurance (END) determines how much time a character with "KO" status has left until they die.
Oasis/tents
Oasis are a perfect place to rest. These locations, marked with a tent icon, restore your health and armor. This is the first method of healing your entire party immediately (this process is free and can be done as many times as you want). However, oases are rather rare.
Medkits
The second method is to use medkits - you will do that more often. Medics can carry medkits on a battlefield (move a medkit into Item slot located next to the weapon slot). Healing on a battlefield costs you one move - use them to heal characters who were knocked out. If you don't do that, they will die.
You can also heal your characters while you are on the world map or on the briefing screen right displayed right before a battle. Select "Use on" and choose which character you want to heal. Different medkits heal you in different ways - move the cursor over a medkit to see how much health points it restores. Note: medics with better healing ability can receive a bonus to restored health points. Remember to switch to a medic before you use a medkit - otherwise, you won't get the bonus.
The same goes for repair kits for repairing your armors - you can use them during and outside battles. You can also replace your current armor with one that has more durability points.
