Exploration in Pathway Pathway guide, tips
Last update: 23 April 2019
The story mode in Pathway is divided to five missions. During them you will be moving with a vehicle through the strategic map, to finally reach the main goal of the mission.
- Exploring most of the points available during the journey is completely optional - if you want to complete the game as quickly as possible, choose the shortest route. If you aim to unlock all of the achievements, discover interesting treasures and unlock access to additional characters, as well as to make the game easier, explore side locations.
- Returning to previously explored points will not result in discovering new events, nor will you be able to return to the skipped ones. The only exception to this are the places that you will visit frequently - places of rest and merchants.
- In Pathway each adventure will have a different course. The mail goal is always the same, but the events you will encounter on your journey might be completely different than the ones you had in the previous playthrough or have a different course (heroes and their special abilities, as well as the decisions and your choices have impact on that).
- Generally speaking, it is impossible to visit all of the locations on the map on the standard difficulty level. The main problem is the lack of fuel that can be found on the map and purchased from the merchants. Due to the fact that the maps are generated randomly, you can acquire the necessary amount of fuel thanks to the events. If, however, you are not certain that you will not run out of fuel, you should always take the shortest route.
- In most cases the most interesting items can be found in places that you wouldn't normally visit, like, a point located on the outskirts of the map, without connection to anything (like the orange point in the below screenshot) - the game algorithm treats those places as more interesting. You can also find legendary items there, although it is not always certain.
- You need fuel to travel and the level of it can be seen on the lower bar. If it is emptied, the mission will end. Most of the fuel can be purchased from the merchants, for 125$ a unit. You can also stumble upon it during your journey. You cannot influence the level of fuel at the beginning of the game other than by changing the difficulty level of the game.
- If your allies die during a journey without fuel but, for instance, a single team member will survive, he/she will not be able to revive the others during this journey. If you want to increase the chances of survival of the members travelling by foot, you should monitor their health.
- If you have lost your allies, there is a chance that a dog will join the last member of the team. If, however, the dog dies too, the journey will end.
- Starting from the second mission, you will have a high chance of finding additional team members (only those that are unlocked and are not hospitalized) on the world map (a human-like or prisoner-like icon on the map - in the case of the latter one, you need to free the prisoner and he/she will join you). Recruiting new members is free if you free them - if they are recruited outside of combat, you will need to pay them 500$.
- If you are low on ammo, it is worth to reserve it for characters that have powerful weapons and/or higher chances of hitting the enemy.
- If weapons are not reloaded with that button, during the next encounter the magazines of weapons will be at the same state as at the end of the previous fight.
- During the exploration you will often find items that have no use and are only meant for sale - those types of items are automatically placed into a bag next to the inventory and do not take additional space.
Reloading weapons
After each encounter you will be presented with the summary of combat. A button called "Reload All Weapons" is also available here - pressing it will reload all of the weapons of all of the allies, but keep in mind that:
