Stardew Valley Creator Finally Got All Achievements in His Own Game After 8 Years. „Dev Patted Me on the Back”
Eric „ConcernedApe” Barone showed that some developers can play their own games and even get an achievement that causes problems for fans.
Game developers are not often as good at their own games as their fans are. In fact, sometimes developers even have trouble completing a playthrough. However, the creator of Stardew Valley actually managed to complete his own game and obtain all achievements on Steam.
Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone boasted about his (nomen omen) achievement in a post published on X. The last trophy he earned was the so-called "Fector's Challenge", which is completing the "Journey of the Prairie King" minigame without dying.
The developer admitted that he had to focus on this last missing achievement, but he managed to do it without resorting to cheap tricks, i.e. loading saves. The game automatically saves after completing a level (or death), but you can also manually save the game state after each completed level.
However, Barone did not take advantage of such a convenience. As he confirmed in a subsequent post, it took him a few days, but the creator finally managed to get the "Fector's Challenge" achievement without save abuse.
Players, of course, congratulated Barone and wittily expressed hope that the creators of Stardew Valley would also "notice" his achievement. He retorted with equal humor that "the developer patted him on the back."
Some fans were also delighted with Barone's "whole set" for another reason. Some of them still haven't managed to achieve all the accomplishments, in many cases precisely because of the "Fector's Challenge". There were also requests for the creator to show his farm in SV in a screenshot.
Let us recall that Stardew Valley version 1.6 (or rather 1.69, which will also debut on PC) will hit consoles and mobile devices on November 4. ConcernedApe confirmed in a recently posted entry that the premiere of this version is not threatened and the update will be released as planned.
