Stardew Valley is a sandbox farming sim RPG in which players take on the role of a farmer who surprisingly does a lot of other activities, including combat. Although the game was developed by an independent creator called Concerned Ape in 2016, it continues to be supported, as evidenced by subsequent updates. The latest version 1.6 has finally arrived on consoles, and with it, the cryptic message ‘You've got some new ideas to sleep on’. If you don't know what it means, this guide will tell you.

Stardew Valley - You've got some new ideas to sleep on message explained

Although the 1.6 update to Stardew Valley itself has been out for quite some time on PC, it just arrived on consoles yesterday, i.e. on November 4th. And while the list of new content is substantial, the big interest is the message “You've got some new ideas to sleep on”.

Console players may encounter it for the first time, as it was just introduced in version 1.6, and it sounds quite mysterious. What it really means is that if you see this message, your character has gained enough experience to upgrade the skill level. Usually, this will appear as soon as you have finished doing an activity, such as farming.

After receiving the message, if you want to use the upgrade, all you have to do is go to sleep. The next day, you will notice that one of your skills (Farming, Fishing, Combat, Foraging or Mining) will be better.
