Respec Coming to No Rest for the Wicked, Even Though Not Everyone Thinks It’s Required

No Rest for the Wicked gives the player many options when it comes to builds. Until recently, you had to be sure of your choice, because it took a huge amount of resources to change your character's development path. This is about to change, specifically with the addition of the respec option.

Moon Studios' latests RPG offers a large selection of weapons for us to use. Swords, axes, daggers of every kind, ranged weapons, polearms, spells, and many others. Sounds great, but it will be extremely challenging for you to transition to using staffs, for instance, once you decide to use a two-handed weapon. Arms require high-level statistics, and it is impossible to have several of them properly developed without a huge amount of grind. The answer could be the option of respec, which was recently announced.

"You have to work hard on your builds"

You can save the world in various ways. As I mentioned above, No Rest for the Wicked gives many of them. Not all players appreciate being compelled to complete the entire campaign with just one build, despite the diversity. At present, the simplest way to test something else is to begin a new entry.

This can be a bit demotivating, as not everyone has the time or desire to start with a new, weak character just to try something else. Nevertheless, some members of the community disapprove of the option to respec their character. They think that adding it in the wrong manner will make the game slightly worse.

The first point is that this approach will be readily available and it will be feasible to move from one build to another.

They say expensive, but I get a feeling it will cost ichor... Farm new realms for 20 mins and see how cheap it will get.

However, most people want to have that option, as long as it's concealed by the right requirements.

It would be cool if the respec system would scale depending on your level, so that you can fix bad decisions early, but changing the complete identity of your character would cost a lot.

As long as they get the rarity/expense right, this is a huge win. Also, I would really love a training area or something where you can try out any weapon's moveset/runes before having to fully commit to a new build.

All other possible opinions also appeared. Some people don't want respect, while others enjoy grinding and creating new characters for different play styles, and some wish for it to be easily accessible without any limitations.

The ability to redistribute your points was announced during yesterday's Rhykker stream. During the stream, a user named moonstudiostm, who is one of the developers, joined the chat. He was answering questions from Rhykker and other viewers.

One question was about the option to re-specialize a character. The developer has confirmed that this mechanic is coming to the game and it will be appropriately expensive. It's not known exactly when it will be added and what its cost will be, but the studio already has substantial feedback based on which changes can be made.
