New Game From Devs of Ori Series With Early Access Release Date. No Rest for the Wicked Impresses With Graphics, Plot, and Gameplay
We've learned the release date of No Rest for the Wicked, which will hit Steam Early Acces first. The promising RPG from the developers of the Ori series will be tested in April.
During today's livestream, developers from Moon Studios (known for the Ori series) announced the debut date of their upcoming game No Rest for the Wicked. This promising action RPG will be available in Steam Early Access from April 18. The full version of the game will also be released on current generation consoles, i.e. PS5 and XSX/S.
That's not all, because during today's stream, Moon Studios presented us with new gameplay fragments (below), which were enriched with the creators' commentary. Thus, all the most important elements of the game were briefly discussed.
- The action in No Rest for the Wicked is set in 841 AD on the contested island of Isola Sacra, where rebels and the government are battling for control. An additional problem will be the fact that after thousands of years, the plague has returned to the world.
- Players will take on the role of a member of a mystical group of holy warriors, whose goal is to expel the epidemic of chaos. However, as part of the story, we will be entangled in a whirlwind of political intrigue.
- The game world was created 100% by hand, but the treasures we find are completely random - apart from unique ones.
- The production will offer dynamic weather and a day-night cycle.
- Each type of weapon has its own unique fighting style, and the equipment is divided into four levels of rarity -- from ordinary (white) items to unique (gold).
- We will upgrade the equipment in the hub, in the capital of Sacramento. There we will also meet many NPCs, traders, and we will be able to buy our own property, which we will be able to furnish.
- The combat in No Rest for the Wicked is demanding and reminiscent of isometric Souls.
- Just like in the works of FromSoftware studio, the efficiency of our dodges will depend on the weight of the equipment.
- Further similarities to Souls can be seen in character development. Choosing statistics at the start will not ultimately have to define the style of play.
- When revisiting locations, for example from the beginning of the game, we will encounter more challenging opponents.
- Importantly, enemies will not respawn after our death , and some will remain injured after our death.
- The production will offer rich endgame content.
It's worth mentioning that the creators have also announced the upcoming development plans for the game (graphic below). First, No Rest for the Wicked will feature a multiplayer mode. Then the early access version will be enriched with new content (in two subsequent patches). The relese of version 1.0 is supposed to take place only after they become live.
