Joy-Cons and Switch 2 dummy at CES 2025. Accessory producer doesn't wait for console announcement
At CES 2025, accessories for the Switch 2 appeared. Nintendo hasn't yet announced the console, but producers are already showing dummies and alternative Joy-Cons.
Nobody probably expected such a presentation at CES 2025. The accessory developer Genki has prepared a booth where you could check out a Switch 2 dummy and Joy-Cons, which the producer has created for a console that hasn't yet been announced. A link is already prepared on the official Genki website, and likely the only thing holding them back from revealing the full offer is the absence of an official announcement for Switch 2.
Accessories for Switch 2 at CES 2025
On social media, we can watch a short video from the CES 2025 fair, prepared by the editorial team of Numerama. It shows a mock-up of the Switch 2 with detachable Joy-Cons at the Genki booth. When detaching them, large flaps on the hinges that secure the controllers are visible, but these likely won't appear in the actual console, which is expected to feature a magnetic system for attaching the controllers to the console.
Together with the Genki dummy, the video showed promotional content featuring the company's custom controllers designed for Switch 2. A docking station for charging Joy-Cons was introduced, along with extra grips to make holding the console easier. If the dummy was based on the original console, then Genki has confirmed many of the previous leaks.
Visually, the console at the Genki presentation looks similar to the one from the December leak, which also came from the company that makes console accessories. The button layout and connectors also match the Switch 2 renders that appeared on the internet in September of last year. The console's software is still the biggest mystery, even though the components on the motherboard have previously been leaked.
Nintendo hasn't responded to any of these leaks even once. Perhaps the company treats this as a free promotional campaign. The Switch 2 remains in the minds of players, as leaks appear on the internet every month. According to fans, the official announcement of the console may take place in January, which would dispel any doubts about the device.
