How to get and use An Audience with the King in PoE 2
If you would like to face one of the most difficult bosses in PoE 2, you need a special item. An Audience with the King is the object you are looking for. Here you will learn where to get it and how to use it.
Sequels do not always deliver what we expect from them. However, that’s not what can be said about Path of Exile 2. It has surmounted its predecessor in almost every way, climbing to the top of Steam activity charts (via SteamDB), despite being in paid Early Access period (it’s worth noting that the game will become free-to-play after EA ends). Even though PoE 2 is not finished when it comes to content, it still has tens or hundreds of hours of gameplay to offer. These numbers do not stop many fans, who are already reaching endgame. One of the more interesting items to get at that stage is An Audience with the King. How does it work? How to get it? Here you will learn all you need to know about it.
Getting An Audience with the King in PoE 2
Let’s start with the basics first – how to obtain An Audience with the King? As PoE 2 offers a lot of content, after completing the campaign once, and then once more in its more challenging form, you will gain access to a huge world with various maps and more demanding enemies. And only then and there will you be able to get An Audience with the King.
Some of the locations in the world of Atlas have a Ritual event. You can distinguish them by their unique Ritual symbol on the world map (to increase the chances of them spawning, you can use Ritual Precursor Tablet in Lost Towers). Once you are on a Ritual map, you will have to complete a Ritual event that will grant you Tribute. This currency is used on an altar of Favours, where one of the possible items can be An Audience with the King. Bear in mind that it is available only on high-tier maps (tier 10 and higher).
The “key”, however, is very expensive. It is recommended to use the defer mechanic that makes you pay 15% of the cost up front, yet then it discounts the item by 10% in the future. To make it more affordable, you might need to defer it multiple times.
Another option is to buy An Audience with the King on Currency Exchange market, yet again, it is very expensive, so resorting to the defer strategy seems to be more cost effective.
How to use An Audience with the King in Path of Exile 2
Fortunately, using the item itself is a lot easier than obtaining it. To do so, you will have to place An Audience with the King in The Realmgate, creating a portal that will transport you to The Crux of Nothingness.
If you’ve made it that far, it’s probably unnecessary to make a remark that you have to be adequately prepared, as the pinnacle boss, The King in the Mists, is a formidable foe that will require all your skills to be defeated. Doing so will make it possible to obtain an Ingenuity Utility Belt, which is an amazing addition to any build.
