It's hard to believe that the newly begun year 2025 is the one when Grand Theft Auto VI will finally make its release (or so the owner of Rockstar Games studio claims). This is definitely the most anticipated game of the next 12 months, if not in the entire history of the industry. So it's no wonder that analysts expect huge revenues, related to the incredible demand.

GTA VI will earn billion-dollar revenue

According to information provided by the Financial Times, research group DFC Intelligence expects that GTA VI will generate over $3.2 billion in revenue in the first year after its launch, which is twice as much as its predecessor achieved. A large part of this sum, up to one billion dollars, is anticipated to be generated solely from pre-order sales. Another group of analysts, IDG Consulting, agreed with this perspective.

We think it's going to be one of the biggest entertainment launches in history, not just in games but for all of media. The pent-up demand is greater than anything we’ve seen before.

Although there are games on the market that have generated billions in revenue throughout their existence, achieving such a large result in such a short time is an unprecedented event. It's also worth noting that GTA V is currently the second best-selling game in history, second only to Minecraft. It is possible that this arrangement will change after the release of the new Rockstar game.

At the moment, GTA VI is only heading for PS5 and XSX/S consoles, however, over time we should also receive a PC version, as was the case with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
