Don’t Just Sell Weapons in No Rest for the Wicked, Remember About the Runes

Available from April 18th, No Rest for the Wicked doesn't always tell players what to do. You have to figure out step by step how everything works on your own. The rune system has just been cracked. These are symbols assigned to each weapon, giving them unique abilities. It wasn't so obvious that you could extract runes from weapons and assign them to the ones you are currently using.

Collect them all

The arsenal, given to the protagonist setting off to fight the Pestilence, is similar to that in other RPGs. You can use great swords, one-handed swords, daggers, staffs, bows, and the like. They are divided into four categories: common, rare, cursed, and unique.

Every type of weapon has a characteristic set of movements. Furthermore, each piece has a rune in it, which adds a special move. It depends on the type of rune. However, few people knew that runes could be extracted and used in other weapons.

Shloopadoop warned others against wastefulness. Weapons are worth as much gold as armor or shields, but they are also the only source of runes, so it isn't profitable to sell them. The most effective option is to take them to the enchanter at the market in Sacrament, where valuable enhancements can be extracted. You can only get one from an item that will be destroyed during the process. So we need to think about what we want to get.

Let's note that runes are mostly limited by the type of weapon we can apply them to. Players only discover the effects of their newly upgraded equipment during combat, as the entire system is described quite superficially in the game. There's also no information that there is a possibility to perform the actions described above. That's why other players were quite grateful for the information.

Wait, I can make other staffs, extract the spells and put on my own?

Thx for the advice. I sold the claymore thinking it to slow for my taste. Using unarmed atm because of durability lost.

Would love to see them allow us to overwrite/destroy already equipped runes so we can change them more freely without making it OP.

Updates and improvements have already been announced, so there is a chance that the game will start to inform players more clearly and in more detail about its mechanics. It will definitely improve the gameplay more than trial and error testing.
