Helldivers 2 has made significant improvement compared to its 2015 predecessor, delivering a more dynamic and chaotic experience with a broad range of objectives, such as evacuating civilians and defending strategic locations. Since its launch in February 2024, the game has introduced several in-game events and major updates, adding new factions and enemies to keep players engaged. However, staying invested can be challenging when connection failures prevent you from enjoying the game.

Connection issues in Helldivers 2

Some Helldivers 2 players are deeply frustrated as ongoing connection issues prevent them from enjoying this year’s Best Multiplayer Game. Since the release of its latest update, Omens of Tyranny, on Friday the 13th, 2024, people have reported problems such as unstable connections, server disconnections, and other persistent errors. Whether it’s being unable to join the game or getting kicked out after just a few minutes, fans are saying one thing: Helldivers 2 is unplayable.

The new major patch has drawn in a surge of both new and returning players, pushing their concurrent count back over 100,000. While this influx of gamers is a positive sign, it has unfortunately led to servers becoming overwhelmed. It’s clear the development team wasn’t fully prepared for this kind of swarm. For now, all we can do is wait, either for the servers to stabilize or for the player count to drop.
