Luma Island is a new simulation game which allows players to farm, mine and do many other interesting activities. Meeting neighbors is among them. However, how deep will your relations be? In many similar titles like Stardew Valley or Fields of Mistria, you can befriend NPCs or even romance them. Will this be similar in this case? Let’s find out.

Can You Romance in Luma Island?

If we look at the official Luma Island FAQ, we can find information that developers did not make their decision in the matter of romance, definitely prioritizing other features. However, if we look at Steam, we can find a comment from one of the creators. They answered the question about relationships firmly as “no” (of course, the response is much longer, you can read it using the provided link). While they thought about it, they decided to cut the content not to be forced into early access.

However, another comment from developers, in the same thread, from a few hours ago (so much newer), stated the same as in the FAQ. So, you will be able to befriend characters but the decision on romance has not been taken. What does it mean? Probably developers wait to add this feature to see if enough players will be interested in it. So, if you are a person who likes deeper relations with NPCs, you should leave a comment for creators to see.

To sum up: for now, the feature is not there, however, there is a chance for romance in the future updates.
