Arma Reforger gets groundbreaking 1.3 update today. Prepare for mortars and destruction

Bohemia Interactive has released update 1.3. You can now download it on Steam, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The studio also published an article about it, detailing the attractions and providing a complete list of changes.

Arma Reforger players will get a big update today, which will introduce many important new features to the game - some describe it as the biggest in history. The version marked as 1.3 will be available after the server maintenance, which will last from 4:00 am to 7:00 am PT.

Arma Reforger - new features in version 1.3

One of the most important new features that should please many Army Reforger fans is mortars. Players will be able to defend their positions with their help, using various types of projectiles—explosive, smoke, or those that illuminate the night battlefield.

The update will also introduce new land vehicles. The first one is the BDRM-2 belonging to the Soviet Union. It's versatile and can perform, for instance, a transport or anti-infantry role. Meanwhile, the Americans will receive the classic LAV-25 vehicle. Extra machines will also be available in the hangars - we are talking about combat versions of UH1 and Mi-8 helicopters.

Another important novelty is the environment destruction. From now on, players will be able to destroy elements such as buildings or trees. However, the system isn't as advanced as in some installments of the Battlefield series. Buildings have their own assigned "health bar" and simply get destroyed when it drops to zero. So don't expect the destruction of, for example, specific walls.

A new system for dynamic weather will be added to the game, greatly improving immersion. Thanks to it, players will experience, for instance, dense fog or heavy rains.

Furthermore, the devs prepared a new ranking system, which will force us to gain levels to unlock better weapons. There will also be many technical improvements aimed at improving optimization.

Arma Reforger is available on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
