The following page of our Medievil game guide includes a walkthrough of The Haunted Ruins level. The castle of King Peregrin has been taken over by demons released by Sir Daniel. He must now save the people tortured by demons and fulfill the last will of the king.

Walkthrough
At the beginning of the level, you can see that the chickens are eating stacks of grain. Lead them in such a way that they eat all of the stacks. Also, there is a book located nearby. Under one of the stacks there is a pressure plate that will activate the gate to the castle.
Once you are inside the castle, there will be Gargoyle located to the left of your location. Go upstairs along the ruined wall, read the book and head to the left to collect a Chaos Rune. Prepare your best weapons, as you have to save the farmers from the demons - both the magic bow and the magic sword will definitely be useful here. Be careful NOT TO STEP ON THE PRESSURE PLATE while killing the demons! It will kill the peasants. Equip a hammer and strike the fire pits with it several times to put them out. Only then you can get on the pressure plate and follow the farmers. They will reward you with a large amount of gold.
Go back to the yard and head right. Kill the demons and go through the corridor, watching out for the cannons - you can jump on them to pass them without any harm. Climb the walls and talk to the Gargoyle. Afterwards, head right and open the gate with the Rune. Read the book and enter the throne room, where you will find another book. Stand on the trapdoor that will open under your weight. Shoot the winged beasts and go to the passage on the left side. Collect the crown of King Peregrin and read another book. Now go through the passage on the right side and head back to the throne room - use the newly acquired crown on the throne.
After talking with Peregrin, he will transfer you to another area of the castle. Get ready, as a time-limited sequence awaits you here. If the time runs out, you will definitely lose and you will have to start the whole level from the beginning. Take the Earth Rune and pull the lever. The stone statues located between you will come to life and the countdown will begin. You have exactly 3 minutes to escape from the castle. To push the stone guards off the castle walls on the right side, you must attack them with a spinning sword attack. When you drop both of the guards, the gate will open. Take out the demons and head to the room located on the right side, where you will be able to put the Rune. Thanks to this, you will be able to go to the left corridor, which was previously filled with boiling tar. Go there, climb the wall and collect the Chalice. Now get down from the wall and pull the lever. The boulder will break the wall. Now you need to jump on the catapult and shoot yourself out of it (the game will do it automatically).
