The next page of Medievil game guide includes a walkthrough of the hidden Ant Caves level. Sir Daniel Fortesque meets a witch in Enchanted Earth and decides to help her in finding ambers inside the Ant Caves. Watch out for ants! They bite!
Things to find
- Amber (7 are required for the quest, but you can find more of them)
- 6 Fairies
- Chalice-you will get it for freeing all 6 Fairies, after defeating the Ant Queen (you will get a new weapon or item depending on the selected hero)
- 2 books
- Chicken Drumstick-reward from the Forest Witch for providing her with as least 7 ambers
Walkthrough
Talk to the gargoyle, go into a small corridor to the right and break the wall. Behind it you will find a gold chest and a Fairy. Now you can go back and through the main corridor, to collect the Mace and read the book. You must now not only collect ambers, but also save the other Fairies in the Ant Caves. Jump through the portal opened by a new ally and go right, clearing your way of ants. In this level you will not receive souls for the Chalice - you will be given the Chalice for freeing all of the Fairies located here. Destroy the larvae and use the Hammer to free the first Fairy. Look for them inside colored glasses - in the original version of the game there were only blue Fairies, in the remake, however, there are also green, yellow, red and so on. After that, kill the ants and smash the rocks blocking the road. Now go into the corridor with "honey" and collect the first Amber. From it, go right until you reach a room full of maggots, clear everything, free the fairy and collect another amber. Continue roaming the caves, taking out enemies and acquiring collectibles. Once you release all 6 Fairies and collect the required 7 Ambers (there are more of them in this level), head to the place shown in the below picture. Break the big wall and get ready to fight with the Ant Queen.
Kill all of the ant minions and wait for the Queen to expose her glowing belly - when that happens, shoot it until she covers it again. Afterwards, she will attack you with boulders and call more ants to her aid. Rinse and repeat until the Queen is dead. For her defeat, the Fairy will give you a Chalice and you will receive the "Antagonist" and the "Witches' Familiar" trophies. In addition, the witch will bring you a new weapon - Chicken Drumstick. Contrary to appearances, this is a very good and useful item.
