Means of unlocking the quest: solve Dr. Garneau's riddle
After you come back from Mahavid make your way to Dr. Bryson's lab in the Citadel. Watch the cut scene in which EDI secures Leviathan's artifact. Thanks to this you will be able to resume your investigations securely. In this location you can find several items but it's only one of them is of importance-the datapad in the doctor's bedroom upstairs. Use it to play the scientist's daughter's recording. That is when you will receive [360 exp] and a new mission- find any hints that would allow you to find the girl.
Go downstairs and approach the palmtop on the desk. This way you will get to know about the ship that Ann Bryson travelled on. Use the computer console located next to the sovereigns fragment. Start the computer and choose the ship named Icarus. Thanks to that he you will narrow down your search and you'll be given [50 exp].
Go to the room with the galaxy map. Inside the desk with a husk's head on it you should see a small drawer. Use it to gain a palmtop with the access code. With the code on you, approach the locker you can see in the corner of the room. Open it and examine everything that you find inside. This way you can learn that the planet Ann Bryson is trying to get to is dry and uncivilized. Thanks to this discovery you'll gain [50 exp], and when you search the locker for even longer you will find omni-blade I (assault rifle).
Armed with these two pieces of information you can approach the galaxy map and apply appropriate filters to it. Your experience will be doubled by [50 exp], and the daughter's location will no longer be the secret. It is enough to reach the Pylos Nebula and search for the Namakli planet in the Zaherin system. That is where you will find the person that you are after.
If you want to, you can give up following the traces and search for the researcher on your own among the systems of the Pylos Nebula. However, despite you'll waste a lot of time and you will gain no additional experience points this way, so there is a worse way out. It is better to search around the laboratory and find both hints.
Rewards for completing the quest:
Unlocking the Area: Namakli in Pylos Nebula (Zaherin System)
Treasures
Omni-blade (assault rifle) the locker next to the galaxy map (the access key is to be found in the drawer of the desk in the same room).
