The eye of a Hideous Beast | Tournament of Hopeful Knights King's Quest Guide

You start the final stage of the second chapter after you leave the arena. Carefully, walk over the plank to the other side of the elevation. Here, you watch a cutscene, where you meet a new character- Maya, the local blacksmith.

Follow the only road. During the stroll, ignore forks and branches. Keep to the main path with a stone wall on both sides.

After a while, you reach the  bridge. After you try crossing over it, it turns out it is a fragment of a giant troll's back. Regardless of whether you climb over stone ledges, during the interaction, or not. You drop down to the ground either way. Now, you can only talk to the giant. During the conversation, you receive instructions - in return for food, the troll help you get the eye of the beast, which you need to complete the quest.

Return and take the first path that you find (to the left). Right next to the statue, you find a bell - take it, because it will come in handy later on. Then, take the passage on the left, to get to the city.

Walk through the gate to start a cutscene, where Maya saves you from trouble. Now, you need to go to the bakery, i.e. the building in the center of the market place.

Talk to the baker and exhaust all of your dialogue options. You need to bring him 1 gold coin (which you already have, provided you haven't' bought the ticket from the merchant, or you have haggled to get a lower price), Sugar Shroom and Starberries. Also, you can talk to Maya at the smithy and the pair of herbalists at the potion shop. Again, exhaust all of the available dialogue options. If any of them asks you about the item that has been missing (the makeshift cart wheel), do not admit your part in it.

After you leave, go to the garden. Here, you meet a guard that is picking fruit from the trees. As of now, you cannot take his equipment, therefore had down the path.

In the next location, you find the red horn. Interact with it 9 times, which unlocks a Steam achievement: "Horn Blower". After you are done, head on.

After a while, you reach a pond, where there are several frogs. If you try to catch them 6 times in a row, you receive a Steam achievement: "Froggy Throat". Head back.

You reach the main path surrounded with the stone walls and reach the location with the statue (this is where you found the bell). Take the passage in the upper-right corner of the screen.

After a while, you find an animal trap with a joint of meat. Duck under the obstacle and interact with the rope attached to the tree, to get the steak.

Jump down into the shallow hole, within the trap and pick the Sugar Shrooms.

Return to the city and walk over to the back gate, which you have seen at the beginning of this chapter. Close it after you enter, because this has to do with one of the achievements.

Follow the forest path and approach the bushes, with wolves among them. While standing next to the bush, select the steak from the inventory, which brings about your death. For this, you will be rewarded with a Steam achievement: "Misteak". After you respawn, you still have the meat. Head back to the city and climb onto the rocks projecting from the wall, to get to the market place.

Take the steak to the next bush, at the beginning of the main road (right next to the plank that you crossed over, at the beginning of this stage). Interact with it to take a badger. Unfortunately, you lose the meat, which is why it was so important to go to the forest first, to let yourself be devoured by the wolves (this made it possible to get the achievement).

A lot of running around again. Go to the city, to the potion shop and use the badger, while next to the kettle with strange goo. Thanks to this, the animal gains strange features.

Again, you get to the animal trap, walk around it and walk into the next location. Keep going to the right and follow the signs.

Finally, you make it to the picnic field. Shake the tree, to make fruit drop down, which provides you with Starberries. Unfortunately, at the same time, you agitate the bees in the hive there, that infest the nearby table with food. Here, use the purple badger (the one that you earlier bathed in the kettle with the ooze), which does not drive the bees away anyways. Still, you receive a Steam achievement: "Purple Badger Don't Care".

In this situation, go to the garden, where you have last seen the guard picking fruit. Since he seems to have taken a break, take his gear. This is the last time you use the badger, on the pumpkin this time, which you find on the ground. Thanks to this, you can pick it up and use late into the game (you lose the badger that becomes useless, at this point). Now, return to the picnic and use the gear that you have obtained to throw the hive into the chasm. Thanks to this, you have completed a third of a bigger achievement.

Go to the bakery and use all of the items (shrooms, berries, the coin), while next to the quest giver. Now, go to the troll with a big fruit pie. He rewards you with the eyes of the beast, which get stolen by Whisper.

The game resumes on the arena. Since you did not get the eyes, you cannot continue in the tournament. Approach the horn next to the bridge and select Olfie's horn mouthpiece from the inventory. Thanks to this, you summon the troll, who shows the hosts his eyes. It is done. You have completed the challenge! You should now receive a Steam achievement: "That's the Ticket".
