On this page of the Heavy Rain Game Guide, you will find a description of The Bear scene. This is Ethan's first challenge and consists primarily of a demanding sequence of driving a car in which you can earn trophies for flawless passing of QTE scenes.

Important: It's the first out of five trials that Ethan has to finish to find his son's location. You don't have to pass them all to find him, but after passing all challenges positively you get the Trial Master trophy. We advise you to complete this particular scene whether you want to get this trophy or not. If you fail - restart the whole chapter.

In this scene you can unlock two trophies: Kamikaze and Good Driver. They are both related to the same thing - you must perfectly complete the QTE sequence while driving the car and thus complete the trial. The sequence is more or less challenging depending on difficulty level you selected. Select low difficulty level if you have some problems with getting the trophies.

Speak with the mechanic and then use the yellow elevator

Walk to the mechanic under the van and call him until he goes out. Go to the "office" with him and take the keys. Use the lift to go down. Use the keys to find your car. It's the one on the left, almost at the end of the parking. If you press the keys, the car will flash its light (as every car does). Go inside. There's a GPS in the door on your left. Follow its lead and start the trail.

Your car now is a brown sport vehicle

Drive onto the highway's wrong lane (you don't have any choice here). It's another long QTE - you have to evade other cars (and different obstacles). Even if you will drive flawlessly it may end roofing somewhere near the road. GPS will tell you about the SIM card you need. Take it and escape through the left doors. If you don't maneuver well enough, you won't get to your destination on time and you will fail the trial. This is not the end of the game, but failure will have consequences in the following chapters of Ethan.

Additional Note - Some reactions during the driving scene require movement of the entire controller. Don't forget about it and don't try to move the analog knob only, because it will be the wrong thing to do.

First Encounter

Speak to the receptionist and go towards the room on the floor

Enter the Deception playing as Madison and use the ring. A charming man will appear. Rent a room. Your room's number is 201. If you don't remember how to get to it, follow Madison's thoughts - staircase on the right, last floor. You will meet Ethan on your way. Take him to room number 207.

Now you must keep attention to what are you taking from the drawer. Otherwise, you will have some walking to do

You will find medicine inside the closet in the bathroom. Take the ones that are under the UP and DOWN arrows (disinfectant and a painkiller). Talk to Ethan and wait while he takes a shower. Now, as Ethan, drink some water - you can find it next to bed. Now look under the bed where you left the box. Open the next origami and go.
