Landing and the beginning of gameplay in Garena Free Fire? Garena Free Fire guide, tips

Last update: 12 November 2019

The beginning of every match in Garena Free Fire is extremely important - it determines where you'll land on the island, which has a high impact on the availability of the potential equipment you may be able to get. Also, the same applies to players you may encounter during your exploration - some areas can be crowded and some remain desolated. In this chapter we have explained what you should do during the first minutes of gameplay.

It is worthwhile to check the map and plan the proper moment of jumping out of the plane. - Landing and the beginning of gameplay in Garena Free Fire? - The course of the match - Garena Free Fire Guide
It is worthwhile to check the map and plan the proper moment of jumping out of the plane.

The beginning of the match in Garena Free Fire is similar to that of other Battle Royale games, such as Playerunknown's Battlegrounds - it starts with a warm-up stage, during which you can run freely on the map among other players. After several seconds, the action moves to a plane where the actual part of the gameplay begins.

During the flight you can choose to nose-dive to speed up the flight and land faster or to open a parachute that will help you in reaching a distant location. - Landing and the beginning of gameplay in Garena Free Fire? - The course of the match - Garena Free Fire Guide
During the flight you can choose to nose-dive to speed up the flight and land faster or to open a parachute that will help you in reaching a distant location.

As soon as the plane gets above the hard ground, the possibility of jumping out of it will pop up on the screen - just simply press the "EJECT" button. However, it is worth to think it over before you decide to use this solution as the jump and landing spot have significant impact on your chances of survival. When planning a jump, remember about a few things, namely:

  1. If you decide to jump out very early, you will most likely hit the ground in front of other players. This gives you the opportunity to get valuable equipment during the first seconds of gameplay. However, most players are likely to do the same as you, so you will have to fight for survival from the very beginning of the match. By jumping out of the plane earlier, you also have a higher chance of getting a vehicle.
  2. On the other hand, if you decide to wait and jump out of the plane much later, you will increase the chance of a peaceful beginning of the gameplay - most players will try to jump out earlier and may get busy fighting with each other. However, this also means that you can encounter a well-armed opponent before you can get any valuable weapons.
  3. You can decide to land at a distant point by opening the parachute as soon as you jump out of the plane. This will allow you to fly much further than other players and, above all, to places that are not on the plane's flight path. This option guarantees a quiet start and is recommended for players who are not looking for skirmishes from the very beginning of the game.
  4. The most important is to constantly monitor what is happening around you, even while falling to the ground. Thanks to this, you'll be able to assess if anyone else wants to travel towards your location. In that case you'll be able to modify your flight trajectory and land at a safer point.
  5. It is also worth remembering that during each game the plane will fly over the island from a different direction, allowing direct access to other spots. For this reason, it's worth finding a few landing spots where you can start the game peacefully and then try to get there.
