Disco Elysium: The Final Cut
RPG
October 12, 2021
An unusual, isometric RPG game that is the first title developed by Estonian studio Fortress Occident. The game is focused mostly on narrative. It takes place in a fictional world that combines modern setting with fantasy traits and with retro-futuristic technologies. The player assumes the role of a policeman who is tired of life. He begins working on a case that can either give him a chance of redemption or take him to the very bottom. During the game player is exploring, completing tasks, speaking to various people and fighting. However, all of this is done in a way that is unusual for the genre. The dialogue system is similar to a logic game during which you must fight by using words and manipulate the person you speak with in various ways. The battles are based on dialogues as well – you must select various text descriptions of actions, trying to create a battle scene worthy of being placed in a good novel.

This is the Police
Strategy
March 22, 2017

This is the Police features two-layered gameplay, divided into plot and strategy. The former lets you follow the story of the main hero and build relations with key characters. Moreover, you have to smartly manage your dirty money – safely laundering it for your private needs and investing some into upgrading the police forces.
Beat Cop
Adventure
March 5, 2019
The result of the independent Polish studio Pixel Crow's cooperation with 11 bit studios, the creators of This War of Mine. Beat cop is a point-and-click time management game. You play as Jack Kelly, a former NYC detective who was framed for murder and demoted. Hated by everyone around, Jack is trying to reconcile his duties with conducting a private investigation in order to discover who framed him. The plot of Beat Cop is non-linear and its many endings depend on your decisions. Interestingly, the game was inspired by American crime TV shows from the 70s and 80s, which is reflected in its atmosphere and humor. The time-management element of the production is most visible when you're patrolling the streets of Brooklyn, while during the investigation segments it becomes a detective/adventure game. Beat Cop has a distinct retro feel thanks to its pixel-art graphics and oldschool soundtrack.
Battlefield Hardline
Action
March 17, 2015
Another installment in the popular FPS franchise. Visceral Games, the studio known mainly for the excellent Dead Space sci-fi series, developed their first major installment in the long-standing Battlefield franchise. It's a result of the transition of the franchise to a two-year production cycle, similar to the one made by its competitor, Call of Duty. Unlike the previous parts, this one is focused on the efforts of police forces against organized crime. The player assumes the role of a young detective Nick Mendoza and has to face his former partners whose desire to get rich quickly pushed them to choose the life of crime. The production features an original method of storytelling reminiscent of popular police TV shows. Despite the introduction of a new theme, the characteristic features of the franchise remained unchanged: impressive arsenal of weapons, fully destructible environment – thanks to the Frostbite engine – and a well-developed multiplayer, in which you will find completely new game modes, such as Blood Money and Heist.

Police Stories
Action
July 9, 2021
A tactical top-down shooter, and at the same time a debut production from Mighty Morgan. The main protagonists – John Rimes and Rick Jones – are police operatives specializing in high-risk operations, such as rescuing hostages and infiltrating gang hideouts. As the enemies need only 2-3 shots to kill the main protagonist, the players have to exercise caution and react quickly. What makes it all the more difficult is the fact that the main protagonists have to stick to police procedures, which prioritize apprehending the suspects without resorting to violence. Sometimes, however, the situation leaves you no choice. The gameplay is even more thrilling thanks to the line-of-sight system – our protagonists cannot see what is behind closed doors until they open them. Apart from the single player, where players preferring more solitary gaming experience have to rely on an AI partner, Police Stories offers the players a chance to join their forces in finishing all of the available missions in a co-op mode. The game also features two-dimensional pixel art visuals.

You play as a brave cop, who decides to crack down on a powerful cartel all by himself. The maps in the game are randomly generated, giving you new challenges with each playthrough. A key aspect of the production are the mechanics of charging into locked rooms. When you get through the door, time slows for a moment, allowing you to assess the situation and begin eliminating your enemies. The game features a single player mode and a co-op multiplayer mode for two players. There are also online rankings and special challenges to complete. The game features, surprisingly, for an FPS, cartoonish cel-shaded visuals.

Moreover, the expansion introduces a new game mode called Bounty Hunter. This is a variation on the standard team deathmatch, which allows you to collect special coins dropped by defeated players. Using the coins, the players can, for example, lure one another into traps. This set of features is complemented by four new weapons, two new vehicles, and some new hats. Besides, the players can listen to some new songs when driving.

The robbers' goal is first to gather adequate tools, and then break into a specific, heavily-guarded place while grabbing everything they can take. The last part is the getaway. Of course, the cops' job is to prevent all of this from happening. The expansion pack also features four new weapons, two useful gadgets, new vehicles for both sides of the conflict, as well as previously unavailable camouflage types and car liveries.

The main course are the four new maps: Pacific Highway, Double Cross, Train Dodge, and Diversion. The DLC also includes three new firearms for the Mechanic as well as one new melee weapon, a new gadget, four vehicles, and four legendary weapon camos. Another attraction is a brand new game mode called Capture the Bag, in which bandits try to get away with a bag full of stolen goods, and the police forces have to retrieve it.
LA Cops
Action
March 13, 2015
An isometric shooter developed by Modern Dream in cooperation with Team 17, the authors of the cult-classic Worms series. The story takes us to 1970s, enabling us to assume the role of police officers that fight against crime that plagues the streets of Los Angeles. We are given several different heroes that are characterized by different backgrounds and abilities. The action is seen from a top-down perspective, while the assigned missions see us explore various buildings divided into smaller rooms. Our goal is to clear the area from opponents and rescue the civilians found on site. Our heroes can make use of a few types of weapons, but employing effective tactics and using the destructible objects and natural covers is the main prerequisite of a successful action. The game is characterized by somewhat simple visuals which were influenced by cult-classic police series from 1970s.
