Contraband Police Description
Contraband Police for PC is a game developed by Crazy Rocks, known for working on the fighting game called Street Warriors Online that focused on the fights between hooligans. This time around, the developers have focused on an unusual theme – smuggling. The game described herein was published by PlayWay, also known for publishing other games including Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 and Agony.
Plot
Contraband Police for PC is a typical simulator without any elaborate story. Players assume the role of a police officer tasked with catching the smugglers who traffic illegal goods in different secret compartments hidden in their vehicles.
Mechanics
The gameplay mechanics in Contraband Police for PC are not overly complicated; however, players have many options to choose from. As an officer, one has to perform routine inspections of vehicles crossing the border. You have to stay alert, as many drivers are in fact smugglers. In order to catch these people red-handed, you have to make them present their credentials and check the bill of freight. Next, you have to inspect the cargo and whether everything checks out. This is not all, as sometimes the contraband including weapons and drugs might be hidden across different parts of the vehicle, e.g. under its hood. On some occasions, players have to disassemble the vehicle’s battery to check whether the driver did not hide any illegal items inside.
As a police officer, you also have to check the technical condition of the vehicles. One has to pay attention to broken headlights, crashed mirrors, etc. Whenever you manage to find such faults, you have to write a proper ticket. Moreover, the game features additional assignments and directions forcing players to control e.g. whether a vehicle is within the weight limit.
If everything checks out, you can let the vehicle go. If a driver turns out to be a smuggler, you are faced with a yet another choice – arrest him (or her) or accept a bribe and forget about it. Players have to be careful, though, as their actions affect the relations with other police officers. Doing a good job and making no mistakes grants you special points you can spend on diverse improvements, e.g. new tools allowing you to inspect the vehicles or hiring a police dog.
Technical aspects
Contraband Police for PC features satisfactory visuals. The game puts a strong emphasis on realism, thus there are no spectacular special effects, however, the vehicles are very well designed. The action of the game is set in the atmospheric mountain area with pleasing to one’s eye landscapes.
